Renewing Your Airport ID Badge – Step-by-Step Process

Step 1 – Authorized Signer: Renew the Application

The Authorized Signer must renew the badge application in the Authorized Signer Portal. If the applicant also needs to renew a Customs seal, a Badge Edit must be submitted first so the CBP background check can be initiated. After the Badge Edit is processed, you may proceed with the badge renewal. Visit US Customs Seal page for instructions on submitting a Badge Edit.
Step 2 – Employee: Complete Electronic Forms and Schedule Appointment

Check your email for a link to complete all required electronic forms, including Privacy Act Notice, Fingerprint Application, Badge Holder Agreement.
All forms must be submitted online before your appointment. If forms are not completed, you must reschedule.
Once all forms are complete, schedule your renewal appointment.
Step 3 – Employee: Complete Online Training

Complete required online training (STERILE, SIDA Renewal, AOA, or AMA) before your appointment.
Training must be completed in advance, or your appointment will be rejected.
Step 4 – Employee: Check in and Pick Up Your Airport ID Badge

Arrive on time. Check in at the kiosk. You will receive a text message confirming your check-in. Proceed to the waiting area and watch both lobby monitors and your text notifications for when a specialist is ready for you and which position to go to.
Bring the following:
- Required documents - Work authorization document (passport, birth certificate, etc.) and Photo ID or Driver's License
- Your current Airport ID badge
A new photo will be taken. The appointment takes about 15 minutes.
Your renewed Airport ID badge will be issued at the Credential Center.
